The Provincial Farmers' Association is competing to build new rural areas.
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, July 12th, the Provincial Farmers' Association held its 11th meeting of the 7th Executive Committee, summarizing the Association's work and farmers' movement during the first six months of the year and outlining tasks for the remaining six months of 2012.
Over the past six months, movements promoting farmers' excellence in production and business, solidarity in poverty alleviation, and legitimate wealth creation have been intensified. Farmers in various localities have competed to contribute to the new rural development movement and ensure national security and defense. To date, the entire province has over 102,000 farmer members registered for the title of "Excellent Farmer in Production and Business." Local organizations have also established 754 demonstration models of high-income, excellent farmer households to disseminate and replicate on a wider scale; organized 3 vocational training courses for students in mountainous districts; organized nearly 750 training courses in science and technology; and supplied over 15,000 tons of fertilizer on a deferred payment basis. Over 2,000 farming households have voluntarily donated more than 240,000 square meters of land to build roads, and hundreds of thousands of households have contributed money and labor to build infrastructure and welfare facilities in the "joint efforts to build new rural areas" emulation movement; over 372,000 farmers have registered to build culturally exemplary families.
In the last six months of the year, the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to vigorously implement the three emulation movements launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; actively promote the emulation movement for building new rural areas; and focus on directing the district, city, and town-level congresses according to plan to prepare for the Provincial Farmers' Congress for the 2013-2017 term.
