The village rests on the shoulders of the soldier.
(Baonghean.vn) –Every stilt house pillar, every plank, every piece of wood... carried across streams, rivers, fields, and plains is soaked with the sweat of Uncle Ho's soldiers. The villages rested on their shoulders, and together with the people, they united their efforts to return to their new homeland.
For nearly a month now, along with the urgent efforts to complete the Hua Na hydroelectric project (Thong Thu, Que Phong), 150 soldiers of Regiment 764 (Provincial Military Command) have been working diligently with local people in the reservoir area to dismantle and relocate their old villages to new locations, giving up their land and villages for a future electricity supply. In early July, as the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir began to fill with water, the soldiers raced against the rising water, working harder than ever to move the people, their villages, and the lives of hundreds of people to a safe new home.

Soldiers and locals are dismantling stilt houses that have been a part of the lives of the people for generations in the upstream area of the Chu River, a river bordering Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces.
