In response to the frustration of transport businesses and residents about traffic congestion at the Tao Xuyen toll station this morning, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong said that the Ministry has sent a telegram to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province and investors, requesting the Thanh Hoa Bypass BOT Joint Stock Company to temporarily stop collecting tolls from October 1.
In addition, Deputy Minister Dong also said that the Ministry of Transport has sent an inspection team to inspect and if they find that toll collection continues at the old Tao Xuyen station, they will resolutely stop toll collection.
On the afternoon of October 1, Mr. Trinh Van Chien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, said: "Whether to continue to allow Thanh Hoa Bypass BOT Joint Stock Company to collect tolls or stop collecting at Tao Xuyen station is the right of the Ministry of Transport. The province will not send a document requesting to continue to collect tolls at Tao Xuyen station."

In addition, according to the previous agreement between the Ministry of Transport and the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, from October 1, toll collection will be stopped at the old location. Any damage related to this toll collection stoppage (while the new toll station is not yet in operation) will be the responsibility of the units at fault in the implementation.
The Ministry of Transport also sent a document to Thanh Hoa province stating that in case Thanh Hoa province wants to extend the toll collection at the old station location, it must send a document to the Ministry of Transport before September 30. In addition, the Minister also assigned the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Transport Works to preside over and work with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the Vietnam Road Administration, Bitexco Investor - Thanh Hoa Bypass BOT Joint Stock Company and related units to clarify the responsibility for the above delay.
