New scam

(Baonghean) - Recently, on the road to Nghia Dan, near Doc Lui, some people have used the trick of wrapping the money of the underworld with tape, 3-5 cm thick, then taking a real coin worth 20-50 thousand dong and sticking it on the outside to trick passersby. When leaving it on the road, they intentionally put the real side of the money up and wrap the bottom side with white paper and write a few lines in student handwriting such as: "Please help me transfer... the amount to pay off the debt". Those sophisticated tricks have made many people greedy, thinking they "got something".

Mr. H from Vinh City was on his way to Nghia Dan. When he got near Lui slope, he saw someone's bag of money dropped on the road, so he stopped to pick it up. As he bent down to pick it up, a man ran up and said, "I saw it too." This person asked if this was a "lucky" thing he had picked up, so he should share some of it with the person who saw it. Thinking he had picked up a large sum of money, and being haggled over, Mr. H took out his wallet and gave this person 300,000 VND. The person immediately thanked him and left.

Without waiting to get home, after a while, Mr. H turned into a roadside cafe and opened the money bag. He saw that only the outermost note was 20,000 VND in real money, the rest was all fake money. Only then did he realize he had been scammed.

This scam has been going on in other localities for a long time, and has just appeared in our province. People on the road should be vigilant against this scam.
