Exciting traditional buffalo fighting festival in Do Son 2012

As scheduled, on September 24 (ie August 9 of the lunar calendar), at the central stadium of Do Son district (Hai Phong city), the final round of the 2012 Do Son Traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival took place. Although the Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival only started at 8am, by 6am the same day, the entire central road of Do Son district leading to the central stadium of the district was packed with people. The number of visitors was almost double that of the qualifying round, which was a favorable condition for the "ticket brokers" to make a profit. However, the surprising thing - the "specialty" of the Buffalo Fighting Festival seemed to appear right from the ticket selling tricks of the "brokers" when the ticket price was "suddenly" sold much lower than the price listed by the Organizing Committee. Through our survey, there were many "ticket brokers" willing to sell 75 thousand VND/ticket while the printed price on the ticket was 100 thousand VND...

At exactly 8 o'clock, despite the unfavorable weather with the hot and sunny morning air, the Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival officially took place with a ceremony imbued with traditional colors in the enthusiastic cheers of tens of thousands of spectators. Entering the round, unlike the qualifying round with its tug-of-war matches, the "buffaloes" in the final round with their experience and bravery always knew how to use their unique and dangerous moves to end the match early.

According to the evaluation of the buffalo owners and the festival organizers: the moves of the "buffaloes" in this round showed great technical quality and high aesthetics, bringing the audience "eye-catching" moves. Right from the third match - the buffaloes number 18 and 30 gave the audience an extremely beautiful move that made the stands "explode" with applause. The dramatic move appeared as soon as the two "buffaloes" were brought onto the field, buffalo number 30 - the best buffalo in the qualifying round immediately ran from afar and launched a fierce tiger charge at buffalo number 18.

However, with his bravery, buffalo number 18 calmly blocked the tiger's attack and suddenly turned back with a horn-strike and a hook attack that almost caused buffalo number 30, which weighed hundreds of kilograms, to be lifted into the air. Being hit by this unique attack, buffalo number 30 panicked and lost the match.

Not stopping there, the unique move of buffalo number 18 was immediately overshadowed by the move of "buffalo" number 9 in the next fight with buffalo number 1. As soon as he was brought into the field, buffalo number 1 with his familiar move jumped up and charged at buffalo number 9 with a swift and brave tiger charge. However, a good move also appeared in this decisive moment when buffalo number 9 calmly stood waiting for buffalo number 1 to charge.

It seemed that the tiger lunge move would help buffalo number 1 gain the upper hand, but buffalo number 9 suddenly lowered its neck and used a firm headrest, causing buffalo number 1 to crash into a mountain, somersaulting in the air before its massive body hit the ground. Although it stood up immediately, buffalo number 1 was unable to withstand the quick, consecutive attacks of buffalo number 9 and was forced to run away, giving the victory to its opponent.

With the unique and attractive moves of the "buffaloes" throughout the matches, the organizers have continuously evaluated: It will be very difficult to choose and award the prize to the "buffalo" with the most beautiful moves in this year's season.

Although the 15 matches took place in a moderate time, not too tense, the buffalo pairs still brought the audience sublime emotions with their unique and technical moves.

At the end, the championship was awarded to buffalo number 25 of Mr. Le Van Duy (Van Son ward), second prize was awarded to buffalo number 01 of Mr. Dang Van Huu (Minh Duc ward), third prize was awarded to buffalo number 11 of Mr. Luu Dinh Vo (Van Huong ward) and buffalo number 04 of Mr. Bui Duc Manh (Minh Duc ward).../.
