Accordingly, each construction permit can only be extended once before the deadline for starting construction 30 days. After 6 months from the date of extension of the construction permit, if the investor has not started construction, the issued construction permit will be revoked. In addition, the construction permit can also be revoked in the following cases: The construction permit is not issued in accordance with current regulations; the time limit stated in the violation handling document has passed, in cases where the construction is not in accordance with the issued construction permit and the investor has not yet corrected the violations as required by the competent authority.

If after 10 working days from the date of the decision to revoke the construction permit, the investor does not return it, the competent authority has the right to cancel the construction permit, notify the People's Committee at the commune level and post it on the information network of the Department of Construction.

The Government also provides detailed regulations on the requirements for granting construction permits for individual works and houses, specifically: Such individual works and houses must comply with construction planning, land use purposes, investment objectives, etc.; have construction design documents implemented by organizations and individuals with sufficient capacity according to regulations; the design must be appraised and approved according to regulations. Particularly for individual houses with a total floor area of ​​less than 250m2, less than 3 floors and not located in historical and cultural relic protection areas, the investor is allowed to organize the construction design and is responsible for the safety of the works and neighboring works, etc.
