Shortcomings on Thang Long road (Vinh City)

November 21, 2012 16:37

(Baonghean.vn) - For many years, residents along Thang Long road (National Highway 1A, km 5 – Nghi Kim – Vinh City) have petitioned relevant authorities about the serious flooding caused by rainwater on the road, which affects traffic safety and detracts from urban aesthetics, but the situation remains unresolved.

A resident of Nghi Kim said: "Previously, this road had a drainage system built, but it lacked covers. People then cast their own concrete covers over the drainage ditches, and over time, due to the lack of cleaning, soil, sand, and garbage have filled them completely." Because the drainage system has been buried for a long time and the roadbed is low, it is frequently flooded. Vehicles trying to avoid the dirty water are forced to drive in the opposite lane, which is very dangerous and has led to tragic traffic accidents. We hope that the relevant authorities will intervene to prevent this situation from recurring on this road.

Drivers can hardly avoid this unpleasant situation.

Dirty water constantly floods Thang Long Street.

Simply to avoid dirty water, traffic violations are very common on this stretch of road.
