Prosecution of former expert of Phu Yen Provincial People's Council

On December 10, Tuy Hoa City People's Procuracy served an indictment and prosecuted the defendant Dao Khoa Thuc (44 years old, former specialist of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation - People's Council of Phu Yen province) for fraud and appropriation of property, and at the same time banned the defendant from leaving his place of residence.

According to the indictment, at the end of 2011, when the Office of the National Assembly Delegation - People's Council of Phu Yen province was preparing to deploy a bidding package for the installation of IT equipment worth more than 1.2 billion VND, Mr. Thuc used a set of documents to proactively introduce to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang Tat (director of an IT equipment company in Tuy Hoa city) and promised to take care of Mr. Tat's company to win the bid. Afterwards, Mr. Thuc received a total of 130 million VND from Mr. Tat, but in the end, the bidding package was assigned to another company.

When he realized he had been cheated, Mr. Tat reported Mr. Thuc for his fraud. In addition, Mr. Thuc also received money from seven other people, promising to help them find jobs, fix cases, etc. to embezzle more than 200 million VND.

Mr. Thuc was forced to quit his job and expelled from the Party.
