One person died after falling material from a crane.

The victim was quickly identified as Do Dai Hiep (born in 1993), a second-year student at a college living near the area. At the scene, the sand container had caused Hiep's death instantly; his body and motorbike were severely mutilated.

As of noon today, Mr. Hiep's body and vehicle are still buried under the debris, and the accident scene has been cordoned off with tarpaulins by the authorities.

Reportedly, the accident occurred at the construction site of the Military Medical Academy apartment building, owned by Company 36.68 under General Corporation 36 (Ministry of National Defense).

Local residents expressed their outrage over the incident. Many argued that the building, despite being under construction for some time, has not ensured the safety of the surrounding residents. Next to the construction site is a playground and exercise area for the residential community. The playground has a surrounding walkway, but the construction site is located right next to it.

Some residents reported that the construction site management had long blocked the walkway between the playground and the building to stockpile materials and create a construction buffer zone, placing warning signs at both ends. However, now that the construction is nearing completion, this buffer zone has been removed, leaving only warning signs. Furthermore, some argue that the walkway belongs to the residents, not the construction site, so ensuring the safety of the residents is paramount. According to residents, this is not the first time the construction company has dropped materials.
