Overview of the trial

According to the indictment read at the trial, from the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2011, the defendants were recruited by the Vietnam Revolutionary Renewal Party (abbreviated as Viet Tan) - a reactionary organization in exile abroad, to Thailand, the United States, the Philippines, Cambodia... to train and plan actions to overthrow the people's government by means of "peaceful evolution" with "non-violent" methods. The subjects prosecuted in this case were recruited by Viet Tan, given aliases, assigned tasks, received money and means from Viet Tan to return to the country to operate.
