Finals of the 3rd Vinh City Lark Singing Contest

(Baonghean.vn) -On the evening of March 24, at the Viet Duc Children's Cultural House (Vinh City), the final round of the 3rd "Lark Singing Contest" took place.

This is a music competition for teenagers and children organized by the Vinh City Youth Union in coordination with the Department of Education and Training and the Viet Duc Children's Cultural House to create a useful playground, educate and encourage children to study well, and at the same time discover excellent singers with musical talent, and orient them to become musical talents for the homeland and country.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded two First Prizes to Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh (Truong Thi Primary School) and Nguyen Le Bao Anh (Vinh Tan Primary School); Two Second Prizes to Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc (Hung Binh Primary School) and Nguyen Tat Chinh (Ha Huy Tap 1 Primary School); Four Third Prizes to Nguyen Thuong Thuong (Cua Nam 1 Primary School), Nguyen Thi Hong Trang (Hung Loc Secondary School), Tran Thi Ngoc Tram (Ha Huy Tap Secondary School) and Pham Hong Nhung (Hung Binh Secondary School). In addition, 8 students were awarded consolation prizes and 2 students were awarded the promising voice prize. Candidates who won Third Prize or higher in this competition will be recognized by the Vinh City Department of Education and Training as Excellent Music Students of the 2012-2013 school year.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen - Director of Viet Duc Children's Cultural House said: "The 3rd Son Ca Singing Contest has attracted 100% of primary and secondary schools in the city to participate with a total of 99 contestants. All 99 children will be invited by Viet Duc Children's Cultural House to attend a vocal training course during the summer and receive a 30% discount on tuition fees. Those who win second prize or higher will receive 2 free vocal training courses, those who win third prize to consolation prize will receive 1 free course.

Although the contest has only been held 3 times (once every 2 years), it has discovered a number of singing talents such as: Huong Tram (who recently won the championship of The Voice - Vietnamese Voice 2012 - 2013). 6 years ago, Huong Tram was the contestant who won the excellent prize at the 1st Vinh City Son Ca Singing Contest. Or like Vo Thu Ha, the contestant who won the excellent prize at the 2nd Vinh City Son Ca Singing Contest, recently won the right to enter the 2nd round of The Voice Kids 2013 contest organized by Vietnam Television.
