Authorities in Nghe An province have seized a truck transporting a large quantity of smuggled goods.
(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 5 PM on January 18, 2013, through patrol work combined with information from the public, the Mobile Police force of Nghe An Provincial Police discovered a semi-trailer truck with license plate 29R 0633 unloading a large quantity of smuggled goods at the Vinh Market bus station area. The police deployed forces to conduct an administrative inspection.
At the time of inspection, the driver, Ho Tan Phong (born 1975), residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh City, could not present any documents related to the transported goods. The vehicle was carrying 96 boxes of hair dye, 360 boxes of vitamin E skin cream, 144 plastic mats, 120 boxes of shampoo, and hundreds of kilograms of clothing and fabrics… without invoices or supporting documents. The total value of the shipment was approximately 150 million VND. The clothing and cosmetics bore labels from various countries but were actually all of Chinese origin.
