Today marks the opening of the Lim Festival 2013.

The 2013 Lim Festival was held over two days, February 21st and 22nd (the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month), in Lim town and the communes of Noi Due and Lien Bao, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province, with Hong Van mountain (Lim mountain) as the central point.

As if by unspoken agreement, in the early days of the new year, the people of Bac Ninh, as well as tourists from all over, return to the Lim Festival, greeted with the subtle and heartfelt invitations of the Quan Ho folk singers of Bac Ninh: "Whenever guests come to visit, we light the charcoal, fan the water, and brew tea. This tea is delicious, my dear, each person should have a cup to please me..."

Over the two days of the festival, Quan Ho folk singing will be performed at four tents and the festival stage in the center of Lim Hill. On the evenings of the 12th and 13th, there will be artistic performances by the Provincial Cultural Center and the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater at the main stage.

In addition to the four Quan Ho singing tents and the festival stage, the Organizing Committee also arranged singing sessions at the gates of communal houses and temples, Quan Ho singing on boats in the villages of Lung Giang, Lung Son, Due Dong, Dinh Ca, Lo Bao, Due Khanh, Hoai Thi, Hoai Thuong, Hoai Trung, and Bai Uyen; and Quan Ho singing at the homes of artisans in Lung Giang and Due Dong villages…

Traditional folk games, regularly maintained over the years, also play a significant role in making the Lim Festival more vibrant and diverse, such as card games like "to tom diem," "du tien," wrestling, pot smashing, cockfighting, and blindfolded goat catching…

Other areas were also bustling with activities such as: Human chess competition at Lung Giang communal house; Dong Ngu water puppet show at the festival's main stage…

A new feature at this year's Lim Festival is that all Quan Ho folk singing booths are prohibited from using sound equipment (except for the main stage in the Lim hill area where the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater performs, which may use sound equipment and loudspeakers); the food and beverage services around the festival area have also been rearranged and reorganized...
