Vinh City Police: Busting a large lottery den

(Baonghean.vn) -On January 27, Vinh City Police successfully dismantled a gambling ring in the form of lottery. On average, this ring received up to 150 million VND in bets from gamblers every day.

The arrested subjects are Do Xuan Binh (born in 1975, residing in Xuan Tien block, Hung Dung ward), Nguyen Sy Ha (born in 1990, residing in Hung Dung ward), Nguyen Thi Hien (born in 1952, residing in Hung Dung ward), Hoang Thi Vinh (born in 1970, residing in Hong Son ward), Nguyen Thi Quy (born in 1979, residing in Hung Dung ward), Le Thi Xuan (born in 1974, residing in Hung Dung ward). The seized evidence includes 78 lottery boards (each board has an amount of money from 3 million to 30 million VND), 1 laptop, 1 computer, 5 mobile phones, an amount of money over 20 million VND, nearly 2.5 grams of crystal meth and dozens of notebooks and papers used to receive and record lottery tickets.

According to the initial investigation, since the beginning of 2012, Do Xuan Binh established a lottery organization line with the daily method of assigning "contacts" to sell lottery numbers in Vinh City. Binh colluded with Nguyen Sy Ha and Le Thi Xuan to directly go to the lottery collection points every late afternoon and bring them to Binh to carry out gambling acts with the lottery numbers. On average, each day, the amount of money Binh and his accomplices "held" from the gamblers was from 100 to 150 million VND.
