Passenger bus overturned in Laos, dozens of casualties
(Baonghean.vn)On the afternoon of April 20, a bus carrying 36 tourists from Vinh city to Laos - Thailand overturned in Lac Xao (Laos), causing dozens of casualties.
Early this morning, April 21, ambulances brought 28 victims of the car accident from Laos to Nghe An General Hospital. Here, doctors performed emergency treatment and admission procedures for 20 seriously injured patients, 8 others received first aid and were taken home by relatives.
It is known that the bus that crashed had a Lao license plate, departed from Vinh city at 7am on April 20, carrying 36 tourists, including 20 from Hanoi and 16 from Son La province. Many of these people were Thai ethnic people and many elderly couples were also involved in the accident.
Victims of the car crash are being treated at the Trauma Department, Nghe An General Hospital.
Some victims were transferred to Hanoi.
Ambulances are on standby at Nghe An General Hospital, ready to transport victims to Hanoi at the request of their families.
Many of the victims were married couples traveling together. In the photo, Mr. Tong Van Lo and his wife Quang Thi Ot from Son La city are lying in the Department of Surgery.
Some victims in Son La have not had time to be taken care of by their relatives.
On the morning of April 21, relatives of the victims were present at the hospital to care for the victims. Many people were transferred to Hanoi for convenient care and treatment.
Dr. Nguyen Duc Phuc, Head of the Emergency Department, Nghe An General Hospital, said that according to the initial information that the hospital had, 3 people died on the spot. As soon as we received the victims of the accident, we mobilized all doctors and nurses to actively provide emergency care for the victims. Currently, all patients have been transferred to functional departments.
