Thai Hoa: 30 agricultural models with high economic efficiency.

(Baonghean.vn) -On May 30th, the Thai Hoa Town Gardening Association held its first General Assembly of Delegates for the 2013-2018 term.

The delegates discussed and set forth tasks and directions for the new term.

The Thai Hoa Town Gardening Association currently has 9 ward and commune branches with 917 members. During the past interim term, the Association organized training courses on improving neglected gardens, changing crop structures, and applying science and technology to production; it also coordinated the development of 30 agricultural models with high economic efficiency, bringing significant income to its members.

For example: the ornamental plant farming model of members Vo Duy Ngoc and Ngo Van Lap in Hoa Hieu ward is worth over 3 billion VND; the closed-loop livestock and crop farming model of Mr. Ngo Tri Tue - Vice Chairman of the Gardening Association of Nghia Tien commune - generates an annual income of nearly 100 million VND; the model of growing specialty fruit trees generates an income of over 60 million VND for member Dang The An in Quang Tien ward…

Furthermore, the Gardening Associations of Nghia Hoa, Nghia My, Nghia Thuan communes and Long Son ward have replicated many effective models such as: forest planting combined with beekeeping, growing green pumpkins, growing watermelons, cultivating and caring for ornamental plants, growing clean vegetables, etc. Thanks to these effective methods and steps, according to statistics, member families have now developed 427 bee colonies, 250 buffaloes and cows, 1,900 pigs; and over 1,000 hectares of gardens, ponds, livestock farms, and forests; thereby increasing the percentage of well-off and wealthy households to nearly 70% of the total number of members.
