Workshop to evaluate the results of testing pure rice AD1

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 8, at Hung Tien commune (Nam Dan), Nam Dan district People's Committee coordinated with Nghe An Seed Joint Stock Company to organize a workshop to evaluate the results of testing the pure rice variety AD1 in the spring crop of 2013.

Attending the workshop were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of leaders of Yen Thanh, Do Luong and Dien Chau districts and agricultural staff of communes in Nam Dan district.

AD1 is a purebred rice variety that was tested by Nghe An Seed Joint Stock Company since 2011, and has been recognized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as a technically advanced variety and introduced into the structure in Nghe An. In the spring crop of 2013, the Company continued to build a large-scale model in the districts of Dien Chau, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Nghi Loc... In Nam Dan, AD1 rice variety was produced in a model on an area of ​​over 0.3 hectares in Hung Tien commune.



Delegates visited the AD1 rice production model in Hung Tien (Nam Dan).

After visiting the model, the delegates unanimously assessed that AD1 is a variety with good growth and development, strong and concentrated tillering, complete flowering and almost no pests or diseases. Despite the cold rain at flowering time, AD1 rice still has a high effective flower rate, overlapping grains, and an expected yield of 61.78-67.92 quintals/ha. In fact, after 2 years of large-scale testing, it has been shown that this is a rice variety with high adaptability to the ecological zone of Nghe An, with very good resistance to cold, drought and heat. In particular, with good rice quality, resistance to pests and diseases and a short growing period (110-115 days in the spring crop and 95-97 days in the summer-autumn crop), this is considered a rice variety that can be put into production on a large scale, especially in conditions where the time of the summer-autumn crop needs to be disputed./.
