Deputy police chief of commune seriously injured after being stabbed by thugs.

(Baonghean.vn) -While dealing with a public disturbance, Phan Xuan Phuong, Deputy Chief of Police of Dien Nguyen Commune, Dien Chau District, was stabbed in the shoulder with a screwdriver by thugs.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 12th in Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district. At that time, Nguyen Van Son, a young man residing in Hamlet 2, Dien Nguyen commune, was drunk and causing a disturbance at a four-way intersection, obstructing traffic and affecting public order. Upon receiving the report, Phan Xuan Phuong, the deputy head of the commune's police, arrived at the scene to persuade Son to get up, but Son became enraged and punched Phuong.

Seeing this, Phan Huy Thanh (born in 1988), a resident of the same neighborhood, angrily grabbed an iron screwdriver and ran towards Mr. Phuong, stabbing him directly. Many villagers rushed forward, disarmed the thug, and took Mr. Phuong to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Following the incident, the district police arrived to investigate. That same evening, Nguyen Van Son and Phan Huy Thanh surrendered to the Dien Nguyen commune police station.

Mr. Phuong is currently being monitored at Dien Chau District General Hospital.
