Through investigative measures and tracking, at 6:30 PM on the same day, the detectives apprehended Nguyen Van Toan along with the evidence while he was at the beach in Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau district. He was then transferred to the police station for further investigation.

According to Lieutenant Le Xuan Dong, Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Team for Social Order: Recently, there have been many cases of motorbike theft in the town. The criminals' modus operandi is to take advantage of people's carelessness when leaving motorbikes on the street or in offices and public buildings without supervision, breaking locks to steal them. Nguyen Van Toan, in particular, has two previous convictions for theft and was only released from prison at the beginning of 2013.

The case is currently under further investigation.
