Price of fresh rice of regular type falls below 4,000 VND/kg

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Long An, by the end of last week, 27,061 hectares of Summer-Autumn rice had been harvested in the province, with an average fresh rice yield of 5.6 tons/hectare and a harvested output of over 152,000 tons.

What is worrying is that the price of fresh rice sold at the field continues to decrease. The price of IR 50404 rice at the field has dropped below 4,000 VND/kg and is at 3,600-3,900 VND/kg (down 200 VND/kg), OM 4900 rice is priced at 4,000-4,100 VND/kg (down 100 VND/kg).

According to information from the Vietnam Food Association, the price of regular dry rice has also dropped below 5,000 VND/kg (currently from 4,850-4,950 VND/kg), long grain dry rice is from 5,050-5,150 VND/kg.
