Suspect arrested for beating a commune police officer to death.

(Baonghean.vn) -On July 23, the Thanh Chuong District Police arrested Cao Xuan Quy (born in 1974), residing in Ngoc Son commune, Thanh Chuong district, for investigation into the crime of murder. Quy's victim was Mr. Nguyen Trong Dien (born in 1959), a permanent police officer in Ngoc Son commune.

According to initial investigations, on the night of July 22nd, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Van's family in Hamlet 4, Ngoc Son commune, held a wedding for their child and included drinking alcohol and loud music. According to regulations in Ngoc Son commune, drinking alcohol and loud music are prohibited at weddings. At 10 PM on July 22nd, four police officers from Ngoc Son commune, namely Mr. Nguyen Trong Dien, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Mr. Le Dinh Tai, and Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, were present at the wedding to conduct inspections and issue warnings.

Here, police officers spotted a group of young men drinking alcohol and approached them to reprimand them, but the group became aggressive and cursed at them. As the police were leaving, Cao Xuan Quy, who was waiting outside the gate, used bricks and stones to hit police officer Nguyen Trong Dien on the head. When Dien collapsed, Quy continued to assault him with a stick.

Some local residents witnessed the incident and intervened, taking the police officer to the hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, Mr. Dien passed away on the morning of July 23rd.
