Closing Ceremony of the Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013

The Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 attracted more than 60,000 domestic and international tourists.

On the evening of February 26th, the closing ceremony of the 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 and the final round of the 3rd Miss Ethnic Groups of Vietnam contest took place at the Hoi An City Theater in Quang Nam province.

Following the closing ceremony, the final round of the 3rd Miss Ethnic Vietnam pageant featured performances of traditional costumes, swimwear, and evening gowns. Throughout the festival, the cultural exchange between ASEAN countries and various regions of Vietnam was prominent. Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary were packed with tourists, and resorts, hotels, and guesthouses were always fully booked.

Now in its 5th year, this festival attracts visitors with its traditional festivals, music, and arts. It features a magical and lively night in the old town with street dances from 9 ASEAN countries, South Korea, and Japan; the ASEAN Cultural Heritage Exhibition also offers visitors new insights into the unique characteristics of ASEAN countries.

The My Son temple complex has become even more mystical thanks to the unique features of Tower G after more than 10 years of restoration, and the Cham rituals have been revived and performed by Cham artists who have dedicated their lives to the temple complex. The Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 attracted more than 60,000 visitors.

Mr. Dinh Hai, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2013 Heritage Festival, assessed: “The most outstanding feature of this Heritage Festival is the convergence of cultural and artistic colors from ASEAN countries. Secondly, the people of Hoi An have the opportunity to witness and enjoy regional cultures from all over the country. The general awareness of local people and tourists about the value of heritage and heritage preservation has clearly been raised.”
