(Baonghean.vn) -This year, Hung Hoa commune has stocked 130 hectares of tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp, and farmers have been raising them for nearly two months now. However, diseases are breaking out and causing significant damage to the shrimp ponds.

As of June 23rd, the entire commune had 24 shrimp ponds affected by the disease, covering an area of over 10 hectares. After taking samples for testing, the results showed that 21 ponds were infected with white spot disease, while the remaining 3 ponds experienced shrimp mortality of unknown cause.

In response to this situation, the Nghe An Veterinary Sub-Department, the city's veterinary station, and the city's Economic Department directly inspected and coordinated disease prevention and control efforts; assigned staff to closely monitor shrimp farming areas, guide farmers in treating diseased shrimp ponds with Chlorine; and simultaneously disseminated information through the public address system to raise farmers' awareness of disease prevention for shrimp.
