(Baonghean.vn) -Nghe An province has 419.5 km of border shared with three provinces of Laos: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Po Ly Kham Xay. Overcoming numerous difficulties, hardships, and even dangers, the border demarcation teams have erected sturdy border markers in the deep forests and high mountains.

According to the Project to reinforce and renovate border markers along the border between Nghe An and three provinces of Laos, there are 116 national border markers. Starting in December 2008, the province deployed marker-laying teams to ensure the plan and progress of the Joint Border Demarcation Committee of Vietnam and Laos were followed.

By the beginning of July 2013, the border section of Nghe An province bordering three neighboring provinces of Laos had been surveyed, and the construction of 116 out of 116 border markers and 6 boundary posts had been completed.

These days, border demarcation teams are coordinating with forces and people in border areas to urgently complete the final tasks, finalizing the border demarcation work on the ground according to the plan of the Joint Border Demarcation Committee of Vietnam and Laos.

We would like to present some images of the border demarcation and marker placement activities between Vietnam and Laos in the recent past.
