Destroyed drug trafficking ring, seized 10 heroin cakes

(Baonghean.vn) -On July 15, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC47) of Nghe An Police coordinated with relevant units to destroy a drug trafficking ring from abroad into Nghe An, arresting three subjects and seizing 10 heroin cakes.

Previously, at around 8:15 p.m. on July 13, in Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An police coordinated with functional units to break up project 677T, caught Tran Thi Hoai Thanh (born 1987), residing in hamlet 10, Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong district, illegally transporting drugs, seized 10 heroin cakes weighing 3.4 kg, 1 Toyota Fortuner car, 2 mobile phones.

The police force also urgently arrested two subjects in the ring, Phan Dinh Lap (born in 1975) in Thai Hoa town and Hoang Trong Duong, born in 1971, residing in Vo Liet, Thanh Chuong. Searching Duong, they confiscated 12,000 USD and 3 mobile phones.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that they had repeatedly gone to the Nghe An - Laos border to buy drugs and transport them to Vinh City, then to the southern provinces for consumption. By changing the methods and means of transportation, they had successfully carried out the illegal buying and selling of drugs many times.

The case is currently being further investigated by the police.
