(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of July 22nd, a delegation from the National Traffic Safety Committee, led by Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, held a working session with the People's Committee of Nghe An province regarding the implementation of Directive No. 18-CT/TU of the Central Party Secretariat on ensuring traffic safety on roads, railways, and inland waterways, and addressing traffic congestion. Mr. Thai Van Hang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, and the Provincial Traffic Safety Steering Committee, participated in the meeting with the delegation.
In implementing Directive 18-CT/TU, functional agencies have coordinated and effectively carried out many activities, while strengthening patrol and control work to promptly handle violations... The work of ensuring the safety of transportation infrastructure has received attention, investment, innovation in transportation management, and strengthening of the force responsible for ensuring traffic safety and order...
However, in some units and localities, the implementation has not been rigorous, resulting in many violations of traffic safety laws and an increase in traffic accidents. State management remains inadequate, and the dissemination of information to raise public awareness and encourage voluntary compliance with the law is limited. The road network does not meet the requirements, leading to accidents, and some types of transport vehicles are not suitable for the road system…

Speaking at the working session, Comrade Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - affirmed: Through this inspection, we will assess the achievements, shortcomings, and weaknesses so that all levels and sectors can learn from experience and develop solutions to effectively implement Directive No. 18-CT/TƯ.

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, highly appreciated the implementation of Directive 18-CT/TU in Nghe An province, while also pointing out shortcomings that need to be addressed. In the coming time, Nghe An needs to continue strengthening propaganda efforts among all segments of the population, leveraging the strength of the entire political system in ensuring traffic safety; implementing measures to manage passenger transport businesses and drivers, and effectively applying science and technology in managing transport vehicle routes; and increasing patrols and inspections to promptly detect and handle traffic law violations, addressing accident black spots and traffic congestion on national and provincial roads, as well as key areas.
