Passenger bus catches fire on National Highway 1A
(Baonghean.vn) -While traveling on National Highway 1A through Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, a passenger bus with a Dien Bien province license plate suddenly burst into flames.
The fire occurred at 8:45 AM on August 18th, on National Highway 1A, in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district. While traveling on the road, a passenger bus with a Dien Bien province license plate, driven by Dang Van Thong (born in 1965), residing in Dien Bien city, had a rear tire blowout.

The car burst into flames.
When the bus stopped to check, they discovered a fire at the rear and shouted for passengers to get off. About 10 people on board, including the driver, the owner, and passengers, fled, without managing to grab their luggage. As soon as everyone escaped the bus, the flames intensified, engulfing the entire vehicle. Some people tried to put out the fire along with the bus company, but without success.
About 15 minutes later, two fire trucks and police arrived; however, the fire occurred in the middle of National Highway 1A, with heavy traffic making it very difficult for the firefighters to reach the scene. By the time the fire was brought under control, only the frame of the vehicle remained, and all the passengers' luggage and belongings were completely destroyed by the flames.

After 30 minutes, despite police efforts to reach the scene, the car was reduced to a mere metal frame.
The owner of the vehicle, who was also the driver, was stunned and didn't understand what had just happened.
The owner of the bus said that the 45-seat passenger bus, which he bought just 3 months ago, is worth 3.7 billion VND.
The fire occurred during rush hour, causing traffic congestion on National Highway 1A, and police had to reroute and regulate traffic. By 10:30 AM, the scene of the fire was cleared, and National Highway 1A returned to normal.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Nghi Loc District Police.
