According to sources from the Organization Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, on the afternoon of September 11th, the Director of the Academy signed a decision to terminate Trong Tan's employment. Trong Tan officially left his position as a vocal instructor in September, after nearly 10 years of teaching. The 14 students previously taught by Trong Tan have been assigned to other teachers.

Simultaneously with his withdrawal from the National Academy of Music, Trong Tan will also cease working on his doctoral dissertation in the field of art. A school official revealed that if he had remained at the school and completed his dissertation, Trong Tan would have been included in the Academy's future leadership structure. "Before Trong Tan, several lecturers resigned to teach at other schools, but this is the first time someone has completely retired from teaching," the official stated.
