Raglai Ethnic Culture Festival - Ninh Thuan 2013

From August 29th to 31st, in Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Ninh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will organize the "Raglai Ethnic Culture Festival - Ninh Thuan 2013".

This is a practical activity to commemorate 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 5 of the Central Committee (8th Congress) on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, and to celebrate the Liberation Day of Bac Ai (August 30).

The 2013 Raglai Ethnic Culture Festival in Ninh Thuan will include activities such as: art performances and traditional Raglai ethnic costume shows; an art night titled "Raglai Culture Festival - Ninh Thuan 2013"; folk competitions such as building ceremonial poles and stilt houses, and a culinary culture competition. There will also be exhibitions and displays about Raglai ethnic culture, and seminars on Raglai culture…

It is estimated that there are approximately 500 artisans, actors, and musicians from the Raglai ethnic group in four provinces: Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, and Ninh Thuan, along with 150 actors from performing arts troupes, serving the people in Ninh Thuan province.

The Raglai Ethnic Culture Festival - Ninh Thuan 2013 was an occasion to honor the cultural values ​​of the Raglai people, an ethnic group with a rich tradition of fighting foreign invaders through two wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, and today standing shoulder to shoulder with other ethnic groups to build a new life; it was also an opportunity to promote the cultural values ​​and scenic spots of the Raglai region to domestic and international tourists; and to strengthen solidarity, exchange, learning, and sharing experiences in preserving and organizing cultural activities in provinces where the Raglai people live.

The opening ceremony of the Festival is scheduled for 8 PM on August 30th, and will be broadcast live on VTV2, VTV5 - Vietnam Television and local stations with participating delegations.
