Female student arrested with 3.9 grams of drugs hidden in phone charger

Lieutenant Colonel Mai Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, said that Nguyen Thi Hong (22 years old), residing in Yen Thanh district town, who recently graduated from a college in Vinh city, is being detained for investigation of illegal drug trafficking.

The investigation revealed that Hong had a boyfriend who worked as a drug dealer. One day in mid-September, this person gave Hong a phone charger and told her to go to a hotel in Vinh Tan ward, give it to them and get money for her.

Hong took the phone charger, went into a hotel room and waited. There, a man came to give Hong money and asked where the drugs were. Hong called her boyfriend and was told that the goods were in the phone charger. Immediately, the girl opened the charger and delivered the goods, but was caught red-handed by the police. Checking the charger, the police discovered 3.9 grams of crystal meth cleverly disguised inside.

When he learned that his girlfriend was arrested, Hong's boyfriend ran away. Currently, Vinh City police are expanding the investigation to capture the mastermind of the case.
