Vietnam U19 team will train at Arsenal

The Vietnam U19 team will have a series of training activities and a number of tournaments to prepare for the U19 Asian Cup finals in October next year. The highlight of those activities is a 6-month training trip in Europe.

This is one of the series of activities of U19 Vietnam planned by Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, Mr. Duc and Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in 2014. Mr. Duc proactively contacted Arsenal Club and the English team agreed to invite U19 Vietnam to tour for 6 months. As planned, U19 Vietnam will depart after Lunar New Year.

Bau Duc also agreed to sponsor all expenses for all members of the Vietnam U19 team (many of whom come from youth training centers such as Song Lam Nghe An, Hanoi, Viettel...). The team leader will still be coach Guilleme Graechen of the HAGL JMG academy.

In Europe, the team not only has the opportunity to train with modern equipment but also has the opportunity to play friendly matches with other youth teams from Arsenal's training centers around the world.

The next activity of U19 Vietnam is an international friendly tournament organized by VFF. VFF Vice President Le Hung Dung said that the guests of the tournament will include strong opponents from Korea, Japan, Europe and South America. The expected time is about 1-2 months before the AFC U19 Championship.

The last activity of U19 Vietnam in 2014 was the U19 Southeast Asian tournament. VFF sent a letter to the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) asking to host the tournament in August 2014. In the recent U19 Southeast Asian tournament, U19 Vietnam lost to host U19 Indonesia in the final match.

After the above series of activities, U19 Vietnam will leave for the U19 Asian Cup Finals in October 2014 in Myanmar.

The key players of the Vietnam U19 team are the first batch of players from the HAGL.JMG training center, who are only 17 and 18 years old. They will still be old enough to participate in tournaments for the U19 group next year. This is also the most anticipated team of Vietnamese youth football at the moment./.
