Building markets associated with new rural areas
(Baonghean) -Nghi Loc has 23 rural markets, of which 6 are of type III, there are no type I and type II markets. In the process of building new rural areas, the District People's Committee focuses on investing in building standard rural markets. Up to now, 6 markets have been completed and put into use. Currently, the District People's Committee is implementing the construction of the remaining markets, contributing to completing the criteria for building markets in building new rural areas.
Nghi Kieu market has been put into use for 2 years now. Since the new market was built, the chaotic display of goods by businesses has decreased significantly, there is no longer a scene of jostling between goods, instead there are rows of kiosks selling goods in the right place, creating favorable conditions for people in the process of exchanging and buying and selling goods. Ms. Nguyen Thi De - a business owner at Nghi Kieu market said: After the market was built, we were rented a booth by the Commune People's Committee to do business. Business is more convenient, goods are not wet like before, customers can choose clothes more easily.
Currently, all 6 markets that meet new rural standards in the district (including Quan Hanh Town Market, Nghi Kieu, Nghi Thach, Nghi Trung, Nghi Cong Nam, Nghi Xuan), have an area of over 3000m2, the market hall area accounts for 40%, the outdoor trading area accounts for 25%, the yard area and trees account for 10%. The district is also building 3 rural markets in 3 communes including: Nghi Hoa, Nghi Van, and Nghi My. Nghi Hoa is one of the communes that is investing in market construction, in addition to the support of the province and district, the People's Committee of the commune has mobilized funds to invest in building a fairly spacious market: With a total cost of over 4 billion VND, an area of over 5000m2, surrounding walls, restrooms, covered stalls, and a concentrated sales area according to regulations. The market is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Chairman of Nghi Hoa Commune People's Committee said: "Building a rural market is one of the criteria that Nghi Hoa Commune is implementing in the roadmap for building a new rural area. Currently, the Commune People's Committee is completing the market, striving to put it into use by October, to serve the trading needs of the people"...
To continue to complete this criterion, the District People's Committee has issued mechanisms to encourage establishments to build a market system, striving to have more than 10 markets meeting new rural standards in the district by 2013. Along with that, the District People's Committee has established a project to build markets in Nghi Dien, Nghi Long, Nghi Van communes... On average, each market has a total construction cost of 3 to 5 billion VND. Of which, the District People's Committee supports each market with no more than 300 million VND, the rest is from the commune's budget and mobilizes people's contributions. Mr. Nguyen Bang Phi - Specialist of the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghi Loc district said: To complete the rural market system, the District People's Committee has established a project to build markets and deploy the construction of new markets. In the coming time, the District People's Committee will continue to invest in building a number of more markets".
