Prosperity of Dong Ngo hamlet
(Baonghean) -Hong Thanh Commune - Yen Thanh District has 3 Catholic hamlets belonging to Ke Dua, of which, the most typical is Dong Ngo Catholic hamlet, a bright spot in the new rural construction movement.
Visiting Dong Ngo parish, we were amazed at the changes in a poor rural area in the lowland area. The solid high-rise buildings close together make the appearance of the village more civilized and prosperous. The newly opened wide inter-village roads meeting the new rural criteria demonstrate the consensus and unity of the parishioners here with the local government. Mr. Le Van Trung confided: Realizing that building a new rural area is the right policy of the Party and the State, the people highly support it. In the work of clearing the land to open the road, Dong Ngo parish had 10 households voluntarily donate land, the largest household donated 60 square meters, my family alone donated 30 square meters of residential land to open the road.
Dong Ngo Catholic hamlet has 140 households, with 590 people. Although it is located far from the district center, in recent years, the parishioners have always promoted the spirit of living a "good life, good religion - respecting God and loving the country", together building a prosperous and happy life. Under the leadership of the Party cell, along with the activities of organizations and the Pastoral Council, the hamlet has built many action programs in patriotic emulation movements.
Notably, the mass movement to protect national security has always been taken care of by the entire population, all policies on religious beliefs have been ensured, the religious and non-religious people have united, repelled social evils, raised the spirit of vigilance, fought and defeated the distorted arguments of hostile forces, and maintained political security and social order and safety in the area.
People in Dong Ngo hamlet do intra-field traffic.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ba - Head of Dong Ngo Hamlet excitedly said: To have a prosperous and happy life, each family, in addition to making efforts to develop the economy, must also pay attention to and do a good job of security and order in the hamlet, educate children not to violate the law and get involved in social evils. Thanks to maintaining the security and order situation in the hamlet, the parishioners here have been able to focus on transforming the structure of crops and livestock, applying scientific and technological advances to production, and intensive farming to achieve high productivity.
With the efforts of the people, in 2012 the hamlet completed the land conversion with a total investment of 150 million VND, accordingly, each household with land according to Decree 64/CP contributed 50 m2 of agricultural land to improve traffic, creating favorable conditions for mechanization in the fields. Currently, in Dong Ngo parish, there are 5 households boldly investing in building an economic model in the direction of comprehensive livestock farms, giving an average income of 200 million VND/year per household. Along with the development of agricultural economy, people also develop many traditional occupations such as: masonry, bamboo and rattan weaving for export, agricultural product processing, trading services... which have created jobs for many workers during the off-season.
In particular, with the support of the local government in labor export, in Dong Ngo hamlet, there are up to 75 people working in labor markets in many countries around the world, sending a large amount of foreign currency to their families every year, contributing to the construction of their homeland, bringing the average income per capita to 30 million VND/year, the number of poor households to only 10 households. Economic development has created conditions for people to promote their internal strength to contribute to the construction of rural infrastructure, taking care of their children's education; 100% of children of school age go to school, the number of excellent students at all levels is increasing.
Currently, Dong Ngo parish has 11 children studying at university and have graduated from university, over 80% of families have achieved the title of Cultural Family, no children have violated the law and have social evils. In 2013, Dong Ngo parish mobilized each person to contribute 1 million VND to upgrade 1,340m of village roads to ensure compliance with standards, making village roads and alleys clean, beautiful and spacious. Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong - Vice Chairman of Hong Thanh Commune People's Committee said: The commune has chosen Dong Ngo parish as a pilot point for new rural construction, in addition to supporting the budget for land consolidation and plot exchange, the commune also focuses on investing so that the parish can complete the work of clearing land for rural traffic construction. According to the plan, from now until the end of the year, the commune will continue to invest in cement and funds for the parish to build 1.2 km of concrete roads, creating favorable conditions for people to develop socio-economy and improve their lives.
According to Mr. Tran Van Dien - Head of Dong Ngo Parish in Hong Thanh Commune, the reason Dong Ngo Parish achieved the above results is thanks to the attention of the Party Committee and local authorities, creating positive motivation for both Catholics and non-Catholics to promote the spirit of solidarity, help each other develop the economy, strive to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and enrich themselves legitimately. In particular, in recent years, the Front Working Committee has worked closely with the Parish Executive Committee and grassroots political and social organizations in propaganda work, mobilizing parishioners to comply with all policies of the Party and laws of the State, live a good life, uphold the gospel in the hearts of the people, contributing to building the Party, government, and organizations increasingly clean and strong.
With the spirit of respecting God, loving the country, and believing in the renovation initiated by the Party, the people of Dong Ngo hamlet, Hong Thanh commune are fulfilling their duties as parishioners "Living a good life, following the good religion - the gospel in the heart of the nation", joining hands to build a bright spot in the new countryside, making their homeland increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
