On the afternoon of September 16, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Appreciating the results of the talks between Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh and Minister Itsunori Onodera, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that the results achieved in the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership in recent times have brought practical benefits to the common development of both countries. The Prime Minister said that the visit will be a positive contribution to promoting the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Vietnam's consistent policy is to especially attach importance to the strategic partnership with Japan for peace and prosperity in the Asian region; he hopes that the two sides will continue to cooperate closely and support each other at international and regional forums, especially at the United Nations.
