Publishing scientific works in the ISI international journal system
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) organized a Conference and Exhibition on Commercialization of Science and Technology Products (S&T) on November 29 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Government's issuance of the Decree on National Universities (1993-2013).
Leaders of ministries, branches and VNU listened to the introduction of research results on science and technology transfer. |
At the conference and exhibition, scientists from VNU shared, disseminated and promoted initiatives, solutions and scientific and technological products that can be transferred into practice as the results of research by groups and individuals in recent times. Among them, there were 24 outstanding products of the technology product group in the fields of natural sciences and engineering technology.
Also at the conference, VNU signed eight contracts for transferring and developing products and scientific and technological solutions for agencies and enterprises. Some typical transferred products include: Technology for producing three types of DNA/RNA purification kits using silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles; high-quality clean biodiesel products to replace petroleum to minimize environmental pollution; technology for selecting high-yield oil-bearing plant varieties suitable for barren lands to extract oil for biodiesel production; fireproof insulation foam bricks, etc.
According to the leaders of VNU, with a team of 349 professors, associate professors, 839 doctors (in the fields of natural sciences and medicine; technology and engineering; social sciences and humanities) and about 300 domestic and foreign scientists coming to work each year, in addition to training activities, scientific research and multidisciplinary, multi-field technology transfer on par with the continent, gradually reaching international standards, have become the strengths of VNU.
In 2013 alone, VNU had nearly 200 scientific works published in the ISI international journal system, including works published in the world's leading scientific journal Nature; more than 100 scientific and technological products were available on the market, participating in national scientific and technological equipment fairs.
Notably, many programs, projects and scientific research topics of VNU have made practical contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Typical works include: The work on “Scientific arguments on history, geography and law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa” or the work “The process of formation and development of the Southern region, the Southwest border”…
