The main import markets are the United States with 1.19 billion USD; EU 947 million USD; Japan 904 million USD; South Korea 388 million USD...

According to VASEP, October was the month when shrimp exports reached a record high of 404 million USD, up nearly 74%. Of which, white-leg shrimp reached 229 million USD, accounting for nearly 57% of total shrimp exports, and black tiger shrimp reached 153 million USD, accounting for 37.8%. Thus, in October, the export value of white-leg shrimp far exceeded that of black tiger shrimp.

The results of shrimp export in 10 months show that white-leg shrimp accounts for 49%, while black tiger shrimp accounts for over 44%.

According to VASEP, white-leg shrimp will continue to hold the leading position in the coming months and in 2014. Despite difficulties in raw material sources and input costs, export results are still very positive, showing the efforts of shrimp processing and exporting enterprises, taking advantage of the world market's shortage of supply due to EMS disease, increasing export shrimp prices and finding solutions to import raw materials for processing and export.

Total shrimp exports in the first 10 months reached nearly 2.5 billion USD, up nearly 33% over the same period last year, accounting for 44% of the total seafood export turnover of 5.57 billion USD. Meanwhile, pangasius exports are more than 1 billion USD lower than shrimp. Although it recovered in October, total exports in the first 10 months still decreased by 0.5% over the same period, reaching 1.45 billion USD.

Tuna exports continued to slide due to the decline in ocean tuna products (fresh/frozen/chilled). Total tuna exports in October decreased by over 14% and 10 months decreased by 5.4%.
