Village elder - village chief visits rubber planting model in Que Phong
(Baonghean.vn) -In order for local people to trust, support and actively participate in the rubber development project in Nghe An province in general and Que Phong district in particular, Nghe An Rubber Development Investment Joint Stock Company has organized for leaders, village elders and village chiefs in Tien Phong commune to visit the rubber growing area in Que Phong district.

The rubber plantation planning area in Que Phong is located in 4 communes: Tien Phong, Hanh Dich, Muong Noc and Que Son. The planning area approved by the Provincial People's Committee is 3,089 hectares, of which the area under the management of Tien Phong commune is 1,522 hectares; Que Son over 941 hectares; Muong Noc over 575 hectares, Hanh Dich 48 hectares. After more than 2 years of establishment, Que Phong Rubber Farm has planted nearly 500 hectares. It is expected that by 2015, 2,000 hectares of rubber trees will be planted.
The delegation visited the rubber plantation area in Bu Mai (Tien Phong commune) with an average altitude of 200 - 300 m, the highest point is 600 m. On the hills, rubber trees grow well and have great potential. Currently, workers of the Farm are weeding, hilling, maintaining moisture and taking care of the trees. Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company also upgraded and accelerated the road construction progress, creating convenience for people and vehicles to travel in the planned rubber plantation area.
The rubber tree planting project in Que Phong district is of special importance. It focuses on exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality, contributing to the restructuring of the agricultural and rural economy towards commodity production, creating jobs, increasing income for local people, contributing to the successful implementation of the national target program on new rural construction, hunger eradication and poverty reduction./.
