Over 10 billion VND to support poor households, wish longevity to the elderly on Tet holiday

(Baonghean) - The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 6540/QD-UBND dated December 31 on financial support for poor households and giving gifts and longevity wishes to outstanding elderly people on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2014.

Accordingly, the provincial budget allocation from the social security source in 2014 was arranged in Decision No. 6038/QD-UBND dated December 16, 2013 of the Provincial People's Committee on the allocation of the state budget revenue and expenditure estimates in 2014, the amount: 10,618,900,000 (ten billion six hundred and eighteen million nine hundred thousand dong), allocated to the People's Committees of districts, cities, towns and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to support poor households and organize visits and give gifts to outstanding elderly people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2014. Specifically: Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs: 78,000,000 VND to organize visits and give gifts to outstanding elderly people; People's Committees of districts, cities, towns: 10,540,900,000 VND to support poor households.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance to guide, inspect and urge the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to allocate funds, ensuring timeliness, correct beneficiaries and correct norms (support level for poor households: 100,000 VND/household; funds for giving gifts and celebrating longevity according to the provisions of Decision No. 4719/QD-UBND dated November 3, 2011 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on regulations for giving gifts to congratulate and celebrate longevity for the elderly in Nghe An province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year every year).

The provision of money to poor households must be completed before January 20, 2014 (ie December 20 of the lunar calendar).
