Students in Vinh City contribute 100 million VND to help poor students celebrate Tet.

(Baonghean.vn) - Following the direction of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to "ensure that all children have a joyful, warm, safe and economical Tet holiday, especially children with special circumstances, poor children,...", the Vinh City Department of Education and Training has guided schools to organize fundraising to help poor students during the Tet holiday of the Year of the Horse.

Mr. Thai Khac Tan, Head of the Education and Training Department of Vinh City, said: As of Saturday afternoon, January 18th, students in primary and secondary schools in the city have voluntarily donated over 100 million VND to support over 500 poor students celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year). Specifically, students from Hung Binh Secondary School contributed 5 million VND to help 20 students; students from Vinh Tan Primary School contributed 6 million VND to help 30 students in difficult circumstances,….

Reportedly, to help poor children celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse, the Vinh City People's Committee awarded 85 gifts to 85 disadvantaged children. Of these, 25 children with particularly difficult circumstances each received a gift of 500,000 VND and some items worth 200,000 VND; the other 60 children each received a gift of 300,000 VND.
