Vietnamese Students Association and Overseas Vietnamese in France turn to Central Vietnam

With the desire to contribute a part of its strength to help the people of Central Vietnam during this difficult and arduous period, the Vietnamese Student Association in Bordeaux (UEVBx) launched a movement to support and help the Central region and received enthusiastic response from everyone.

In that spirit, UEVBx organized a fundraising event "Towards Central Vietnam" on Sunday, November 17.

The fundraising event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere at the Association's house with the participation of the overseas Vietnamese community, some invited guests and a large number of Vietnamese students living and studying here.

The program of the ceremony consisted of two parts, starting with an introduction by the organizing committee, followed by documents about the damage caused by storms in the Central region selected by UEVBx. The speech by the president of the Vietnamese Association in Bordeaux deeply moved those attending the fundraising event. The second part consisted of some performances about the Central region and the donation collection.

The results after 2 weeks of launching the movement and during the fundraising event, the temporary amount collected up to November 17, 2013 is 2425€, and this number is expected to increase in the coming time. This amount will be transferred to Vietnam as soon as possible to help the people of Central Vietnam overcome the current difficulties.
