This championship is a worthy reward for the Chinese tennis player's tireless efforts, as she had to suffer defeat twice in the Australian Open finals against Kim Clijsters and Victoria Azarenka.
This is also the second time in Li Na's career that she has had the honor of stepping onto the highest podium at a tournament in the prestigious Grand Slam system, after Roland Garros 2011.
As for Dominika Cibulkova, losing just before the championship is a huge disappointment. However, the runner-up position at the Australian Open is not a bad achievement for the Slovakian player. Especially after shockingly eliminating both Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka.
Even before the 2014 Australian Open, the best achievement Cibulkova had was surprisingly reaching the semi-finals of Roland Garros 2009.
With what has happened since the beginning of the season, experts believe that the chances between the two players are quite equal. Li Na has a slight advantage in experience, having participated in three Grand Slam finals.
