New parents will no longer have to worry so much now that they have a device to help them monitor their child's health via their phone.

A group of graduate students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have created a smart device called Mimo that can monitor a baby's breathing, temperature, and movement.

The Mimo system will give parents greater peace of mind in monitoring their children's health.

All information about the baby will be sent to a pre-installed application on the smartphone. This information will reassure parents that the baby is okay and will alert them if anything bad happens to the baby.

Reportedly, the device, specifically designed within the Mimo Kimono range, is equipped with a turtle-shaped sensor and runs on an Intel Edison computer the size of an SD card.

The two vertical blue stripes on the Mimo Kimono are equipped with additional sensors to record changes in the child's breathing and temperature.

The Edison computer's role was to analyze data and send the information to an Android or iOS application in the form of graphs.

The Mimo system is designed for babies from newborn to 12 months old and will go on sale next February for $199.99 (approximately 4,255,000 VND) per unit.
