Support provided to 37 provinces and cities to help the poor celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year).

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has just decided to provide 4.8 billion VND to 37 provincial and city Red Cross branches to help families in extremely difficult circumstances celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year). Activities under the "Tet for the Poor and Victims of Agent Orange" campaign for the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2014 will reach localities with high poverty rates and those affected by natural disasters in 2013.

In addition, from January 10th to 27th, the Central Committee of the Association also organized 9 working groups to visit and present gifts to poor families and victims of Agent Orange in several provinces and cities such as Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Thua Thien Hue, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Dak Lak, Kon Tum…

Giving Tet gifts to the poor.

The "Tet for the Poor and Victims of Agent Orange" campaign in 2014 is being effectively implemented with the goal of mobilizing and distributing one million Tet gifts to poor households, victims of Agent Orange, families receiving preferential treatment, and cadres and members in difficult circumstances. More than 10,000 businesses, organizations, and individuals both domestically and internationally have participated in and supported the campaign. As of January 6th, the various levels of the Association had mobilized and distributed over 525,000 Tet gifts, along with many other goods and humanitarian projects worth over 200 billion VND.

The provinces and cities receiving support for the Lunar New Year of the Horse this year include: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Tien Giang, Soc Trang, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Duong, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Lao Cai, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Bac Can, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Bac Lieu, Yen Bai, Long An, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, and Khanh Hoa.
