Four rare ancient royal decrees were discovered by a delegation of Ha Tinh Museum staff at the Pham Van family's ancestral temple (located in Lam Chau village, Thach Chau commune, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh).
The four ancient royal decrees are intact, similar in decorative patterns and the same size (2.1 m long, 50 cm wide), written in ancient Chinese characters on wind paper, with thin, sharp strokes, turmeric yellow paper, the front side is decorated with dragon patterns...
Of the four ancient royal decrees, two were dated the second year of Khai Dinh, which were similar in time (March 15, 1917) and both had the content of granting the ancestor of the Pham Van family, Pham Van Nghia, the title of Dong Giang Marquis.
The two remaining royal decrees dated the 9th year of Khai Dinh, also dated July 22, 1924, and both contained the title Cao Binh Quan to the ancestor of the Pham family, Pham Van Linh.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tri Son, Director of Ha Tinh Museum, the discovery of four rare ancient royal decrees is of great significance, helping Vietnamese history and culture researchers understand more deeply the development history of the Nguyen Dynasty.
