Bai bu root cures cough
According to Oriental medicine, Bai Bu has a sweet, bitter taste, is non-toxic, and has the effect of moistening the lungs, relieving coughs, and disinfecting. It is often used to treat coughs, roundworms, pinworms, etc.

Tuberous roots, fleshy. Leaves grow opposite or alternately, heart-shaped blade, arched main vein, many small transverse veins. Flowers grow in leaf axils, greenish-yellow, purple inside, foul-smelling. Capsule fruit, many seeds.
The vine often grows wild in the mountains, the medicinal part is the root. It is best harvested in the fall, washed, cut off both ends, steamed until cooked or dipped in boiling water. Leave the small type whole, split the large type in half lengthwise, dry in the sun or dry until dry.

Here is a remedy with Bai Bu:
- Treat cough due to cold, sore throat, little phlegm:16g of Bai bu, 12g of Kinh gioi, 12g of Bach tien, 12g of Cat canh. Boil and drink one dose per day. Drink for 5 days.
- Cure cough naturally that won't go away:Dry fresh Chinese clematis over fire, take a little water each time and swallow it.
- Whooping cough treatment:12g of Bai bu, 12g of Bach tien, 4g of licorice, boil with sugar, divide into 3 times a day, drink continuously for 3-4 days.
- Treat children's cough due to cold:30g of roasted fritillary bulb, 30g of burned ephedra, almonds with shell and pointed ends removed, roasted, crushed and boiled thoroughly to get the water, mix with fritillary bulb and ephedra pills to make pills the size of soapberry seeds. Take 2-3 pills each time with warm water.
- Deworming:Use 10g of Bai Bu decoction to drink every morning, on an empty stomach, for 5 days to expel worms; 40g of fresh Bai Bu (equal to 20g of dried Bai Bu), 200ml of water, boil for half an hour, reduce to about 30ml. Use the decoction to enema for 20 minutes. Treat like this for 10-12 days to cure pinworms.
Note: People with weak spleen and stomach should not use.
