5 cleaning mistakes that can easily cause 'death'

Sometimes, even the most knowledgeable housewives can fall victim to silly mistakes when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing their homes.

They can destroy your belongings, cost you money, waste your time, and even… kill you.

Mistake 1:If one product is good, two products are even better.

Nhiều người thích tự mình sáng tạo chất tẩy rửa riêng nhưng sự tùy tiện có thể khiến bạn phải nhận hậu quả nặng nề.
Many people like to make their own cleaning products, but being careless can have dire consequences.

Mixing cleaning products together without a basic understanding of chemistry can actually have deadly consequences. Here are some “pairs” that should never be mixed together:

- Vinegar and bleach

- Ammonia and bleach

- Bleach and disinfectants containing Quaternary Ammonia

Acidic products such as vinegar should never be mixed with alkaline products such as bleach. Even mixing two different brands of bleach is dangerous.

Mistake 2:Homemade cleaning products are always better

Hiệu quả của chất tẩy rửa cần được kiểm chứng thực tế chứ không chỉ dựa vào lòng tin hay sự yêu thích cá nhân.
The effectiveness of a cleaning agent needs to be tested in practice, not just based on belief or personal preference.

Now, to be clear, we’re not going to “favor” natural or homemade cleaning products, nor are we going to throw all commercial cleaning products in the trash. The problem is that homemade cleaners may not be the most effective, and they may also be the most toxic. Worse, many people still have the automatic belief that homemade cleaners are always safe, while store-bought cleaners are not.

The best solution is to test them yourself by trying the products and seeing how they work. And remember, if a cleaning formula is praised as being very good, don't be too quick to believe it is true, because it is only "potential".

Mistake 3:Bleach (or vinegar, or whatever) is the only product you really need.

Đừng huyễn hoặc bản thân rằng bạn thích chất tẩy rửa nào thì nó sẽ là thứ đa năng và hoàn hảo nhất.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that whatever cleaner you like is the most versatile and perfect one.

There are many multi-purpose cleaners on the market that will work well on kitchen surfaces and floors. But that doesn’t mean bleach should be used to clean grime or vinegar should be used to clean wood floors. In fact, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all product.

Mistake 4:The more products you use, the better the results.

Tập thói quen đọc kỹ và làm theo đúng chỉ dẫn của từng sản phẩm là giải pháp tốt nhất để bạn tránh xa những hậu quả xấu.
Getting into the habit of reading and following each product's instructions carefully is the best way to avoid negative consequences.

More doesn’t always mean better. For example, using too much soap to clean kitchen and bathroom surfaces can cause soap scum to build up. Using too much dishwashing liquid is one of the reasons why your dishwasher needs repair. Adding too much carpet cleaner will only make it dirty faster… That’s why the instruction manual exists. Always read and follow the instructions on each product.

Mistake 5:The amount of detergent you use doesn't matter.

"Too much of anything is bad", especially with cleaning products.

For example, washing machines and detergents have improved a lot over the decades. But why do we still use a certain amount of soap? This may not seem like a big deal, but using the right amount of soap can help prolong the life of your machine and your clothes.
