55 traffic accidents occurred on the first day of Tet

According to statistics from the National Traffic Safety Committee, on the first day of Tet, there were 55 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 33 people and injuring 70 people..

On the first day of the new year, the authorities were still on duty to ensure traffic flow and guidance. There were 2,419 cases of traffic safety violations, with fines paid to the State Treasury of VND932 million. Five people had their cars temporarily impounded and 780 motorbikes were temporarily impounded nationwide.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Trong Thai, Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee, said that the hotline of the National Traffic Safety Committee on the first day of Tet did not receive any complaints from people about overloading or increased ticket prices. Passenger transport activities on the first day of Tet have decreased because most people do not travel long routes on this day.
