Comments on the draft Law on entry, exit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 18, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a meeting with collaborators in law-making in 2014, and collected comments on the draft Law on Entry, Exit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, which is being prepared for submission to the National Assembly at the 7th session. Comrade Pham Van Tan - Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired the meeting.

Overview of the conference

The draft Law on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam submitted to the 13th National Assembly for consideration and comments at the 6th session has 8 Chapters and 46 Articles. After receiving and revising the draft Law, it consists of 10 Chapters and 63 Articles (2 new Chapters and 17 new Articles were added; 43 Articles were received and revised).

At the conference, representatives of leaders of relevant agencies and law-making collaborators highly appreciated the draft Law which had been received and revised by the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly deputies and relevant agencies; in addition, many opinions were contributed to propose revisions and additions to the draft Law. Among them, it was proposed to revise the name of the Law because it was too long; to study and revise some technical terms into common terms; to consider adding details and specifics on entry, residence, temporary residence and deportation of foreigners; to adjust the working term of foreigners to be consistent with the current Labor Law...

Also at the conference, delegates heard a report on the results of the 2013 law-making work of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. In 2013, the law-making work of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation achieved high quality, especially the coordination was also organized by the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to collect opinions and contributions from all people in the province on participating in amending the Constitution; Law projects...
