Long slip from… alcohol!

(Baonghean) - Only when sitting in police custody and facing the crimes they have committed, do these very young people suddenly wake up, repent and reform for the days of being immersed in alcohol and being "drunk" leading to a degenerate lifestyle and committing crimes...

Originally from Nam Dan, Hoang Tien Dung (born in 1984) started a career in Dong Anh district, Hanoi. As a young man

Simple and hard-working, Dung was once admired by everyone. During this time, Dung met a girl in Nam Linh commune (Nam Dan) and fell in love, but later, for many reasons, Dung's love was not reciprocated. Despite this, Dung always tried to approach the girl and her family in the hope of being accepted for his love... After many times like that, Dung became depressed and resorted to alcohol to relieve his boredom. But the more he drank, the more delusional he became and his actions became blind and hooligan.

At the beginning of the new year 2014, after getting drunk, Dung went to Nam Linh commune again to ask to talk to the girl's family. Like the previous times, Dung's purpose was unsuccessful. He was like a drunken animal, controlled by alcohol and unable to control himself, so he used bricks and stones to destroy the girl's property and furniture. When he saw the commune police force appear, Dung became even more crazy, showing a defiant attitude, cursing, making the people in the neighborhood very angry.

After more than 15 minutes of restraining Dung, preventing him from continuing to cause trouble and destroy property, the commune police force took Dung to the Nam Linh Commune Police Headquarters for settlement. Here, police officer Le Thanh Hai was assigned to take Dung's statement to clarify his actions. When the police officer asked for his name and permanent address, Dung looked up and retorted: "Who are you to dare to look at me?" After finishing his sentence, Dung rushed forward and punched the police officer in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. After that, Dung ran away but was surrounded and arrested by the commune police force. The incident was reported to the Nam Dan District Police and Hoang Tien Dung was detained for resisting a person on duty.

During the days of being detained at the district police headquarters, Dung became emaciated because of too much anxiety. Every time he heard the sound of the cell door opening, he would startle. During the entire interrogation, Hoang Tien Dung admitted to his crime, always showing remorse and asking for a lighter sentence. “It was just because I was drunk that I couldn’t control myself. This is truly a lesson for me. I just hope that when I go to court, my sentence will be considered and reduced because this is the first time I have committed a crime, I didn’t do it on purpose, I was just controlled by alcohol…” - Dung’s slow, honest words at the investigation agency made many people secretly feel sorry for him, just because of a few glasses of alcohol, he couldn’t control himself and committed the crime of resisting a person on duty.

If Hoang Tien Dung is a simple young man, Nguyen Minh Thi (born in 1981) in Nghia Minh commune (Nghia Dan) has a handsome face, bright eyes and a wild style; He has a wife and children, but because of drinking and gambling, he got into trouble with the law. Thi was born into a normal family. After finishing school, his parents encouraged him to join the army and become a soldier. During his time in the army, Thi always studied hard and was sent to study at the engineering officer school. He thought that when he passed the exam to enter the officer school, the young man's life would take a different, better turn, but unexpectedly, this was the time when Thi became depraved because of drinking and slipping into secret parties outside of school. After those parties, Thi was discovered by the school and decided to expel him and strip him of his military rank. Disappointed, Thi returned to his hometown and was given the opportunity by his family to work at a local sugar factory, get married, and have children.

It was thought that after getting married, Thi would work hard to make up for the past months of debauchery, but Thi continued to sink deeper into drinking, gambling, debt and recklessness. On the afternoon of February 17, 2014, Thi and her close friend Pham Ngoc Vuong in Nghia Hong commune invited each other to go drinking. After the party, drunk, Thi persuaded Vuong to steal a buffalo to sell. That evening, Thi walked to a neighbor's house, stole the buffalo and called Vuong.

At this time, Vuong borrowed his brother's truck, drove to the meeting place, herded the buffalo onto it, drove it to Highway 48, and took it to Dien Chau district to sell for more than 27 million VND. After receiving the money, Thi gave Vuong more than 11 million VND and continued to indulge in drinking and gambling. When the money from selling the buffalo was gone, Thi and Vuong were urgently arrested by Nghia Dan district police. When they were arrested, both of them were weak in the knees, worried and scared. During the investigation, the police also clarified some other acts of Nguyen Minh Thi and both were prosecuted for theft of property.

Nguyen Minh Thi, Pham Ngoc Vuong and Hoang Tien Dung are all young men born into normal families, with good education, but for various reasons, they lost the beauty of their youth, turned to alcohol and committed crimes. Hopefully, this will be a common lesson for those who are addicted to alcohol and deviate from their lifestyle.
