Following the scandal at V. Ninh Binh, striker Pham Van Quyen has confirmed he will retire after 10 years of playing top-level football. The player, born in 1984, also stated that he will return to Nghe An to get married and focus on his business. Furthermore, coach Van Sy has even considered organizing a farewell match for Van Quyen, as a final tribute to a talented but also controversial player of Vietnamese football.

Surprisingly, despite knowing about Van Quyen's retirement and especially his professional abilities, the Chairman of Hai Phong Club, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, stated: "The Hai Phong team wants to sign Van Quyen. It's a great pity that a rare talent like Van Quyen retired so early; he could play in the V-League for at least another 1-2 years."

Of course, that's just talk from Hai Phong's side, but for those who love Van Quyen, it could be considered an opportunity for the "former prodigy" of Vietnamese football, if the team from Hai Phong truly wants him. Obviously, the truth remains to be seen, but if this "relationship" becomes a reality, it could be considered a surprise for Vietnamese football fans.
